It's the AF&O Reindeer Game, and everybody is welcome to play! Time for today’s round of the game. Check out the Dictionary.com Word of the Day at right and share your own sentence using the word. Can you comment on the sentences already here? Of course! Be creative and have some fun!

OK, today’s word:

potentate

As usual, I’ll go first:

Dubya Bush is a public employee — and an unelected one, at that — yet carries himself as if he is the world’s potentate.

  1. I prefer the sniglet “Potentater”, which means the largest potato chip in a new bag of potato chips, usually found near the top. In a sentence, it would go:

“Merle and Jessie Lee fought over the potentater in the sack of generic chips they got from a Wal-Mart dumpster.”

  2. You’re absolutely right, GW has forgotten that he is supposed to pretend to be an elected official and believes that he is really the potentate of the “free” world.
