Friday Reindeer Game

It's the AF&O Reindeer Game, and everybody is welcome to play! Time for the TGIF round of the game. Check out the Dictionary.com Word of the Day at right and share your own sentence using the word. Please feel free to comment on the sentences here. And much kudos to our players — the quality of competition has just been terrific! All right, time to throw down and take names.

OK, today’s word:

amity

As usual, I’ll go first:

Enough with all this rancor and spite — the world needs peace and amity; it’s time to do things right!

Your turn, dudes and dudettes. Come on, join our reindeer game!

  1. Dubya says that amity and stability between the Mideast and the rest of the world depends on a groundswell of democracy, and that the US would be “patient and understanding”, which some call bold, and others call a sham.

Given that this is the same administration that forgot to budget for aid to Afghanistan, hearing a CNN commentator describe the latest speech as “nuanced” a few minutes ago (I swear, I really heard it!) leaves me wondering whether this is a presidency or a soap opera.
