Last week’s poll asked, “Should religious denominations accept openly gay clergy?”
The results broke down like this:
A rousing 55% of those who responded answered, “Yes! Jesus’ command was (or, for non-Christians, it is humane) to love, not to exclude.”
Nineteen percent said, “It depends on the teachings of a particular denomination.”
Sixteen percent were adamantly opposed, saying, “No! Homosexuality is sin and, while other sinners may serve, this sin is particularly wrong and anti-God.”
Nonbelievers spoke up: Six percent said, “I have no interest in religion.”
Take some time, counseled three percent, who said, “Perhaps not yet. This divisive issue requires much consideration.”
Thanks to all who took the survey for taking part here at Free Speech Central.
Time for this week’s AF&O Poll. The question involves the CBS television network’s decision to move the miniseries “The Reagans” to pay cable channel Showtime after receiving pressure from right-wing Republicans.
What do you think? Was CBS correct in its decision not to air “The Reagans”?
Tell us what you think! Cast your vote in the AF&O Poll of the Week. You’ll find it in the navy blue-colored box in the sidebar to the right.
You can only vote once. Results will be available next Sunday.
