Oh, the Irony

Dubya Bush says he welcomes the massive protests expected in London during his visit there next week because — dig this — “I don’t expect everybody in the world to agree with the positions I’ve taken.”

Funny, if people in his own country disagree with his positions, they are considered unpatriotic, treasonous terrorists.

Calling Alanis Morrissette.

  1. Actually, I think he is REALLY saying it in the spirit of his infamous “bring ’em on” speech—i.e, he thinks the cops’ll shoot them all…..

  2. Yet he still wants them kept as far away as possible, eh?

From All Facts and Opinions comes this story about Bush’s claim that he welcomes the protests planned against him next week in Britian. President Bush said Thursday he welcomes the massive protests expected in London during his visit next week…

  3. pdm, British constables do not carry firearms.

And, I don’t recall having read or seen any news on anyone being tried for treason. Thus, that argument is totally without merit.

  4. Yes, no trials — yet — but the Shrub made a controversial comment where he said that *in his opinion* Americans who disagreed with his policies were treasonous. That has not been codified under law, thank goodness, but Bush’s comment certainly gave this dissenter pause.
