It's the AF&O Reindeer Game, and everybody is welcome to play! Time for today’s round of the game. Check out the Dictionary.com Word of the Day at right and share your own sentence using the word. Play it, you’ll love it!

sycophant

As usual, I’ll go first:

  1. Check this one out:

GB tried to play the role of the sycophant but didn’t realize that the ax-wielding man before him was made poor by his hands.

  2. It’s fitting that the media should have become a nest of GOP sycophants, because “sycophant” sounds like a combination of “sick” and “elephant.”

  3. This is one of my favorite words, but for years I spelled it “syncophant” with two “n” because that’s how I’ve pronounced it. I was pretty embarrassed when someone finally corrected me. 🙂

  4. What Elayne said 🙂

“Dick Cheney was delighted with the sycophants on the Supreme Court when they appointed his choice for president.”
