For those who have asked, the Reindeer Game will return in the not too distant future. In the meantime, let’s play this fun diversion I found at Brian Flemming’s weblog (he discovered it at The Minor Fall, The Major Lift (hallelujah!)…
It’s called The Book Game. The instructions are easy:
- Grab the book nearest you.
- Turn to page 23.
- Find the fifth sentence on the page.
- Write that sentence into Comments.
It’s that easy, and if enough people are game enough to try it, this could be a blast. So play, OK?
I’ll start, noting that the nearest book at hand was Bob Costas’ Fair Ball: A Fan’s Case for Baseball, which I used at Brian’s site, so the following comes from the second-nearest book:
“The Senate (and the public) did not find out about Ashcroft’s orders to stop the search for the terrorists’ gun files until December 2001, when Ashcroft not only proudly admitted to doing this in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, but went on to attack anyone who would question his actions to protect the hijackers’ gun rights.”
