I really feel badly for Elisabeth Hasselback today…
But the celebration is on. Ding-dong, the days of the GOP controlling everything are gone (pending tallies of absentee and provisional ballots). Rick Santorum GONE. Bob Ehrlich GONE. (Can’t say I am enthusiastic about the Dems, but we’ll leave that for later. Spent the day working for Dems yesterday at the behest of the 10-year-old, who is now officially among the happiest kids in America – more on that later too.)
Today, after being morose since the man who SHOULD have taken Pennsylvania’s Santorum down, Dr. Chuck Pennacchio, lost the primary to the Santorum-Lite Demublican, Bob Casey Jr. Credit where it is due — Casey took down Bigot Rick. Good on him. But it would have felt better if Chuck, a decent, true progressive, had been the Keystone State senator and not that Casey clown. Whatever. I choose to celebrate the dethroning of the GOP.
The party takes place on Grateful Dread Radio‘s every-Wednesday “The Weekly Midday Live.” From noon until 4pm EST (5-9pm GMT), I’ll spin all kinds of protest/political stuff and, given my mood, probably lots of dance (no, not disco and techno and hiphop) and party music. Join me and let’s have a blast (while feeling sad for our conservative friends like the aforementioned “The View” co-host).
And don’t forget the Holiday Contest! See the Grateful Dread Radio page for details (or below, if it hasn’t scrolled downward).
